Sea Spy marine magnetometer

magnetometro marino

The Marine Magnetics SeaSpy magnetometer is a sensor that allows you to detect variations in the earth's magnetic field at sea. The magnetic sensor is of the overhauser type and allows data to be sampled up to a maximum rate of 4 Hz. The magnetometer is made up of a marine unit which contains the sensitive core and part of the electronics (telemetry) and a surface unit (acquisition ) responsible for powering the sensor and acquiring serial data. The marine and surface units are joined by an electro-supporting cable that allows the sensor to be towed and the information transmitted. The data is acquired via dedicated software called Sealink which also allows the synchronization of magnetic records with geographical ones thanks to an interface with a GPS system.

The SeaSpy system is equipped with a 300 meter cable which allows its use on large marine carriers.

Below are the main technical characteristics:

-Absolute Accuracy 0.1nT

-Sensor Sensitivity 0.01nT

-Counter Sensitivity 0.001nT

-Resolution 0.001nT

-Dead Zone, Heading error, temperature drift NONE

-Power Consumption 1W standby, 3W max

-depth rate 1000m
