One of the main objectives of the MARE project is to exploit the strong correlation between seismic noise and sea wave movement to evaluate the potential for energy production from sea wave movement. To this end, the MARE project involves the installation of 8 broadband seismic stations. Seismic stations will be installed on: Isola di Levanzo, Isola di Marettimo, Isola di Favignana, Isola Grande, Isola Formica and 3 on the western coast of Sicily. As part of the MARE project, we intend to analyze seismic signals using the most modern frequency, polarization and correlation analysis techniques. For each component of the seismic stations, short-duration power spectral densities (PSDs) in the 120s – 100 Hz band will be calculated

The Centauro is a digitizer, recorder, equipped with telemetry, advanced on-board data processing capable of manipulating data and detecting events in the field. Equipped with all the features necessary for seismic acquisition, the Centaur is suitable for application in the MARE project, both for a permanent installation and for a portable installation, autonomous with local acquisition and GPS timing or networked with data transfer with SEED protocol and NTP/GPS timing.

TRILLIUM COMPACT HORIZON is a robust and tested broadband seismometer (for this project we chose the 20s). Ideal for direct burial, working on the surface with suitable thermal insulation, in applications where dimensions, weight and power supply are essential to be low. It maintains every aspect of the Trillium but can be easily transported, weighs just over 1 kg and can be buried up to 10 m deep. It allows remote access to the settings, limiting any interventions but above all to check whether the instrument is level during the installation and verification phases.

The Titan accelerometer features excellent dynamic range, very low self-noise comparable to that of some broadband seismometers. The Titan incorporates a digitally selectable full scale range and zero offset functionality, ideal for difficult installations. Allows remote access to settings, limiting any interventions.

The LR77 LTE router is used to wirelessly connect various equipment and devices via 10/100 Ethernet interface to the Internet or Intranet. Thanks to the high data transfer speed of up to 100 Mbps (download) and upload speed of up to 50 Mbps, it is an ideal wireless solution for traffic and systems that require high IT security. It mainly uses the 450 MHz band whose main advantage is long range. The case can be requested either plastic or metal, depending on the installation needs.
